Flash Card Frenzy is an educational game designed to help students build math fact fluency. We take privacy seriously, especially when it comes to children. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Students can use the main game without creating an account. When a student plays outside of a teacher-created class, game progress such as star ratings, diagnostic results, and practice history is stored locally on that device using the browser's built-in storage. This local progress does not identify the student and is not accessible to us unless the student joins a teacher-created class.
We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking in the main game.
Flash Card Frenzy offers a Teacher Dashboard currently in beta testing. Teachers who apply and are approved may create an account, create classes, add students, import rosters, and track student progress.
For teacher accounts, we collect:
For student rosters inside the Teacher Dashboard, we store only the student name needed for the classroom roster and progress display. Teachers may enter student display names manually, or import a roster from Google Classroom. Google Classroom roster imports are converted to privacy-conscious display names such as first name plus last initial when possible.
Teachers may optionally create student PINs. A PIN is used only to help confirm that a student selected the correct name before progress is saved to that student record. PINs are not shown to students through the public class link.
If a teacher chooses to connect Google Classroom, Flash Card Frenzy may request permission to view the teacher's Google Classroom courses and course rosters for the purpose of importing students into a Flash Card Frenzy class.
When a roster is imported, we may receive student names and Google Classroom student identifiers from Google. We use the student names only to create the class roster display names. Google Classroom student identifiers are stored as one-way hashes so we can recognize already-imported students during future roster syncs without storing the raw Google identifier.
We do not collect student email addresses from Google Classroom for gameplay, and we do not use Google Classroom data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the teacher-requested roster import and sync.
Teachers can disconnect or stop using Google Classroom import at any time. Teachers may also remove students from a class roster or request deletion of their account and associated class data.
When a student joins using a teacher-created class link and selects a roster name, Flash Card Frenzy may store game results connected to that class and student display name. This may include games played, operation type, level, answer mode, scores, accuracy, wrong facts, practice results, diagnostic results, and timestamps. This information is used so the teacher can view class and student progress.
Flash Card Frenzy is designed for use by students of all ages, including children under 13. Students are not required to create accounts. For teacher-managed classes, student information is entered or imported by the teacher for educational use and is limited to the information needed to identify students within that teacher's class and track learning progress.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us outside of a teacher-managed classroom use, please contact us and we will address your concern promptly.
Flash Card Frenzy uses its own first-party analytics system hosted on our own servers. We do not use Google Analytics or third-party advertising analytics. Anonymous usage data may include games played, levels chosen, answer modes used, scores, and general geographic region such as country and state. For teacher-managed classes, progress data may also be associated with a teacher's class and student roster entry so the teacher can review progress.
We do not sell, trade, or share user data for advertising. Teacher account data, class rosters, Google Classroom roster data, PINs, and student progress are used only to provide Flash Card Frenzy features. We may use service providers necessary to operate the website, hosting, database, and email systems, but they are not permitted to use the data for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
Teacher account data is stored using industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and access controls. Student roster and progress data is accessible only to the teacher who created the class and authorized administrative users needed to operate and support the service.
Game progress stored on your device can be deleted at any time using the "Reset Progress" button in the app, or by clearing your browser's local storage.
Teachers with dashboard accounts may request deletion of their account and all associated class, roster, PIN, and student progress data by contacting us. Upon request, teacher and associated student data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
We may update this privacy policy as new features are added. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Significant changes will be communicated to registered teachers by email before they take effect.
